Hi there! I'm Brittany, and I'm the mother of 3 beautiful daughters and married to my crazy husband, Bob. We live just outside of Frederick, with our flock of chickens, 2 elderly cats, and 2 loud dogs.
My path to midwifery was not a direct one. After high school, I worked as a certified EMT while I went to school to receive my Bachelors of Science in Biology from Hood College. Next I received a Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and worked 10 years in primary care as a PA. Upon attending my best friend's homebirth as her support person in 2008, my whole world changed. Upon giving birth in my own home in 2012, my goal was set. I feel fortunate that my past has brought me to this place-- where I feel passionate about my future. From 2014-2017, I attended births as a doula and birth assistant in the home environment. In 2018 I became a Certified Professional Midwife, and in late 2018 will be licensed through the state. I love offering this model of partnership support and care to local families.
When you invest in me as part of your labor support team, you are investing in your family's future. Your birth is not just the beginning of your child's life but the beginning of your adventure in parenthood. Only positive outcomes can come from nurturing and empowering a person at the beginning of this journey. I support your choices for you and your family.
